Parassinikadavu Muthappan temple is one of the significant sacred pilgrims hubs in north Kerala. It stands on the banks of the Valapattanam river. Sree Muthappan is the principal deity worshiped in this temple. All the main
poojas are done by the Thiyyas of Parassini Muthappan family.The temples is visited by people of all caste creed and religions. The temple provides free food and free places to stay for everyone who arrives there. There is also tea and boiled green grams will be available as prasadam.
The places of his adoration are called Madappura. At Parassinikadavu on the banks of the Valpattanam river this temple is dedicated to Lord Muthappan, believed to be the incarnation of Lord Shiva located 20 km away from Kannur. Overnight accommodation is available in the temple precincts and furthermore on houseboats.
