Kodumon Chilanthiyambalam Temple

Kodumon Chilanthiyambalam Temple which is also known as Chilanthi Ambalam is a sacred temple located in a small village Kodumon in Pathanamthitta. It is believed to be only one of its kinds in India and is dedicated to sanctified or deified spider. It attracts thousands of devotees from far and near for the purpose of divine healing. This temple dedicated to the God of Chilanthi or Spider is said to built during the reign of Sakthibhadra. Kodumon in Kerala is also famous as the birth location of the famed scribe of Ascharya Chudamani, Sree Shakthi Bhadra. There is a magical well in the building of the Kodumon Chilanthiyambalam Temple. The well is called “Chilaanthikinar” significance “spider well”. The water of this well has magical powers to mend all kinds of skin infections.
