Kodungalloor Bhagavathy Temple

The Bhagawati temple at Kodungallur is among the most sacred temples of Kerala. This temple is dedicated to the goddess Bhadrakali, a form of Maha Kali or Parashakthi worshipped in Kerala. The goddess is known also by the names "Sri Kurumba"" (The Mother of Kodungallur).Turmeric is chiefly offered to the Goddess Bhadrakali by her devotees. Countless devotees arrive to this temple and worship the goddess wholeheartedly. A Holy pond called Pushkarini is just 50 meters away from the temple, where devotees take holy dip before going into the temple. It is presumed that this pond came into existence when the goddess touched the land with her sword.
