Koodalmanikyam Temple

Koodalmanikyam Sree Bharatha Temple is situated 25 km away from Thrissur in Kerala. A distinct characteristic of Koodalmanikyam temple is that there is only one single Prathista. The 'Mukkudi Nivedyam' and 'Brinjal Nivedyam' offered on the day of 'Avittom' star in the Malayalam month of 'Thulam' is well known. This very old temple is possibly the only one in India dedicated to Bharatha, the brother of Sree Rama. The popularly known as Koodalmanikam of Sangameswara is presumed to be the Para Brahma Moorthy.

Koodalmanikyam Temple History

The Sanctum Sanctorum, enclosed with copper plates is engraved with traditional Kerala style art. The temple disagrees itself from the architectural designs of other temples in periods of its comprehensive layout. Well protected by the walls, the temple is located in over nine acres of land.
